Today I’d like to share with you this super hot tofu steamed fish! Tofu is like a blank canvas, so any flavors that you add in the tofu will draw a painting on it. Our streamed tofu and fish today is spicy, garlicky, and umami.
Ingredients
3 pieces of silken tofu
3 pieces of cod
1 tablespoon of chopped red chilies paste
1/2 tablespoon of minced ginger
1 tablespoon of minced scallions
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
5 tablespoons of oil
a dash of sesame oil
a pinch of white pepper
Sauce
4 cloves of garlic
5 slices of ginger
2 stalks of chopped scallions
¼ cup of soy sauce
To make the sauce, mix 4 cloves of garlic, 5 slices of ginger, 2 stalks of chopped scallions, and ¼ cup of soy sauce.
We have 3 pieces of silken tofu here. Then place a piece of cod on top of each tofu. Add some 1 tablespoon of chopped red chilies on top of the fish, and ½ tablespoon of ginger.
Next up, add water in a steamer and heat it up. Then wait until the water is boiled, transfer it in the steamer and steam for 5 minutes till well done. Carefully take it out and remove the water in the plate.
Now we can add 1 tablespoon of scallions, 1 tablespoon of garlic, a dash of sesame oil, a pinch of white pepper.
In another pan, heat up 5 tablespoons of oil.
Pour the hot oil on top of the fish. Remember to serve with the sauce. Enjoy!
