1. Traditional Smash Burger Recipe

Serve: 3 burgers
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes

For the smash burgers:
3 burger buns
1 tablespoon butter
3 piece lettuce
3 slices tomato
6 slices American cheese

For the beef:
15 ounces ground beef
Pinch of salt
Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons extra light olive oil

For the sauce:
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 tablespoon sweet relish
1 tablespoon mustard

  1. To prepare the ground beef, form the beef into balls, each 2.5 ounces.
  2. To make the sauce, in a bowl, add mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet relish, and mustard. Mix well.
  3. To prepare the burger buns, spread the butter onto the buns.
  4. Over high heat, heat the griddle until smoking hot, and place the buns on it, 30 seconds. Remove.
  5. Cook the patties in batches, and over high heat, heat the griddle until smoking hot. Add the extra light olive, and place the meatballs on it. Smash the meat patty until very flat. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook until golden brown, (1 minute).
  6. Flip. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until golden brown, another 1 minute. Add American cheese on each patty. Let it melt for about 10 seconds.
  7. Assemble and serve.

2. Rice Burger Recipe

Serve: 3 rice burgers
Prep time: 25 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes

For the rice burgers:
2 1/2 cups steamed rice
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon extra light olive oil
3 slices tomatoes
3 pieces lettuce

For the beef:
12 ounces ground beef
4 tablespoons onion, minced
1 egg white
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine
Pinch of white pepper
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon extra light olive oil

For the sauce:
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoon rice wine
2 tablespoons honey
Pinch of white pepper

  1. To make meat patties, in a large mixing bowl, add the beef, onion, egg white, soy sauce, rice wine, white pepper, and sesame oil. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into patties. Set aside.
  3. To make the sauce, in a small bowl, mix in the soy sauce, rice wine, honey, and white pepper.
  4. To make the rice buns, in a large bowl add in the steamed rice, and cornstarch. Mix. (Cornstarch is going to make the rice firmer).
  5. To cook the rice buns, over high heat, in a pan, add the extra light olive oil. Transfer in the rice buns. Cook until golden brown, (2 minutes). Flip, cook until golden brown, another 2 minutes.
  6. Cook the patties in batches, and over high heat, add the extra light olive oil. Transfer in the patties. Cook until lightly browned, (1 minute). Flip, cook until lightly browned, another minute.
  7. Turn to low heat. Flip again. Pour in the sauce. Cook for 1 minute. Flip one last time. Cook for another minute.
  8. Assemble and serve.
